Michael D. Cohen
Michael D. Cohen is President and CEO (and Principal) of Behringer, bringing more than 25 years of entrepreneurial leadership and commercial real estate experience to the company. In his tenure with Behringer and Behringer related entities, Mr. Cohen has served as a director of Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I, Inc., Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT II, Inc., Monogram Residential Trust, Inc., Priority Income Fund, Inc., and President of Vertical Capital Income Fund (NYSE: VCIF). Mr. Cohen also serves on the Investment Committee for Behringer, along with the Board of Managers which governs the day-to-day activities of the platform.
Prior to joining Behringer, Mr. Cohen was a vice president at Crow Holdings—the investment office of the Trammell Crow family. In this capacity, he was responsible for the acquisition and management of retail, office and hospitality assets. Mr. Cohen began his career in 1997 at Harvard Property Trust, Inc. and Behringer Partners—two predecessor companies of Behringer. Mr. Cohen received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas Christian University.
Mr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his wife Jaime and their three daughters Claire (17), Ryann (14) and Lucy (11), whether it is camping or watching them play sports. Outside of family time, Mr. Cohen serves on the Board for Levine Academy and Congregation Anshai Torah in Plano, Texas.
